Most of the Moldovans chose to go to mountain resorts on the winter vacation. Among the preferred destinations are Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria. There are also Moldovans who preferred the seaside in distant countries.

Contacted by IPN, director general of the travel agency “Panda Tur” Ion Curmei said that in Romania, the Moldovans went to Bran, Sinaia, Predeal, Poiana Brasov and Moieciu. In Ukraine, most of the Moldovans chose the sky resort Bukovel, while in Bulgaria - Bansko and Pamporovo. “There are also other destinations, but few people went there. The tickets to Egypt and Thailand also sold well, but these are intended for those who afford to spend more,” stated Ion Curmei.

For a vacation in the mountains, the Moldovans paid €70 to €300 per person, while in hot countries – between €350 and €1,000.

Liliana Buzila, manager of the travel agency “Tatra-bis”, said that as the previous years, the Moldovans preferred mountain resorts in Romania, Bulgaria, and Austria. A three-day trip to Romania costs €150-200, while a seven-day trip to Bulgaria and Austria – €200-800.

30% of the vacationers chose hot countries. Egypt is the most accessible by price. All-inclusive seven-day vacation packages for this country cost US$400-600.

The city breaks started to be in demand this year. These cost €155-360 per person for three-four nights, with flight, insurance, three or four star hotel accommodation and breakfast included. Among the preferred destinations are Vienna, Rome, Istanbul, Venice, Prague, London, and Paris.

The travel agency “Santana-Tur” sold an equal number of tickets to mountain and sea resorts. The agency’s director Anastasia Baiciurina said Egypt was the favorite destination because the prices are much lower compared with the previous years. A vacation for two in Egypt costs US$450 with flight and accommodation included. Dubai and Thailand were also among the chosen hot destinations. As to mountain resorts, the Moldovans preferred those in Romania and Ukraine.
