The Head of the Fiscal Inspectorate from Ialoveni, Igor Cernat, was arrested for 20 days after the court decided today to apply the preventive measures - the detention. Cernat will spend almost three weeks in the Penitentiary No. 13 in the capital.

The information was confirmed for Deschide.MD by the Acting Deputy Chief of the Prosecutor's Office for the Combating of Organized Crime and Special Causes, Corneliu Bratunov.

Igor Cernat was arrested on Monday by the prosecutors for a case of money laundering and tax evasion. At the same time he will be submitted charges for excess of power.

According to, Igor Cernat is the head of the Ialoveni Fiscal Inspectorate since 2013. Since then he purchased several luxury cars, built a splendid house and opened multiple business, where investments have been made worth millions of euros.
