Chisinau will negotiate better conditions for Moldovans in Russia
The Government authorized a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Labor Anastasia Ocheretnyi to negotiate and initiate an agreement of cooperation in the area of labor migration between the Governments of Moldova and Russia.
There are about 50,000 Moldovan migrants in Russian Federation, according to the statistics of the competent federal services. However, according to Moldovan officials, the real figure is much higher. The agreement that is to be signed will solve a part of the problems of migrants, including those related to the obtaining of work patents, and will create conditions for more migrants to work legally, reports IPN.
The agreement will be signed for a period of five years, with extension for consecutive three-year periods if the signatories do not have other proposals.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved the signing of an inter-ministerial cooperation agreement in the area of labor with Lithuania. This agreement will enable to learn from Lithuania’s experience in adjusting the national legislation to the EU’s and to mobilize technical assistance for implementing policies in the area of social protection and family. The accord will be signed for an indefinite period, while the cooperation program will be agreed by the sides at the beginning of each year
