Igor Dodon is ready to discuss recognition of Transnistrian diplomas and license plates
President, Igor Dodon, and the leader from Tiraspol Vadim Krasnoselsky, discussed the free movement of citizens on both sides of the Dniester, recognition of documents, railway traffic and resetting the telephone communication between the banks of the Dniester.
The first in eight years meeting between the political leaders of Moldova and Transnistria was held in Bender. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, it was an acquainting meeting in order to designate the main directions for the further negotiations.
"We must make sure that the people didn't become the hostages of the policy that the decisions made by the politicians were for the good of the people. We must respect the people of Transnistria and the people of Moldova and reach a compromise anyway," Krasnoselsky emphasized.
In turn, Igor Dodon expressed an opinion that the heads of states had to do everything possible in order that the citizens' welfare had been improved, to achieve resolution of specific problems of people, the Pridnestrovie's Presidential Press Office reported.
"We agreed that our colleagues will discuss in the nearest future all issues from one and from another party," Igor Dodon noted. He hoped that once again in the near future the sides would be able to meet and discuss specific terms for implementation of those decisions which they would manage to coordinate.
According to the President of Moldova, it is important that citizens saw a concrete result.
"Of course, there are difficult issues, there are some different views, but it doesn't mean that we don't have to come to the negotiating table, to discuss and solve the problems of our citizens. As for the other more difficult issues, eventually, following the achieved results, we will also find their solution," he told.
"And time will tell," Vadim Krasnoselsky summarized.
